Welcome!
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to your new position within Food and Nutrition Education in Communities (FNEC) programming. We have pulled together some information that will help you become familiar with your position. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to working with you.
For New Regional Coordinators
Regional coordinators are a vital link between our county programs and campus based staff. Regional coordinators participate in monthly conference calls, provide leadership to the programs within their region, and engage all new frontline and management staff through facilitating professional development opportunities.
For New Nutrition Supervisors
Nutrition supervisors are key to successful nutrition education efforts within county settings. Nutrition supervisors provide the on-site management of FNEC programs through their guidance and leadership of frontline staff, ensuring quality nutrition education lessons are provided by well-trained staff.
For New Frontline Staff
Frontline nutrition educators are the heart of FNEC programs. Frontline staff engage in Navigating for Success, an intensive new staff training, which introduces them to the dialogue approach to learning, the method by which nutrition education is offered in New York State. Through NFS and additional professional development opportunities offered at the state, regional, and local levels, frontline staff are prepared for the responsibilities of their position.
For New Data Entry Staff
Data entry staff are critical to the accurate reporting of the nutrition education efforts conducted at the county level. Data entry staff's attention to detail and commitment to quality, ensures the evaluation of the FNEC programs is reflective of the information collected from and on program participants.
